Hydroseedng
Applying seed in a liquid medium is the fastest, easiest and most economical method of seeding large areas and gives turf quality at a fraction of the cost of traditional, labour-intensive turf laying.
- Customised seeding
- Consistent and uniform surface
- Stability in exposed and windy areas
- Fast growing enhances survival rates
- Inhibits run-off and erosion
For tough to seed areas that are subject to erosion. Seed sprouts in 3
5 days and ready to cut in approximately 3 weeks.
Versatile enough to perform erosion control wild flower
seeding / renovation / lawn / turf establishment. Non-Toxic and
bio-degradable.
Seed mixtures, binders, matrix, machinery and dispersal equipment have been the subject of continuous improvement, allowing hydro seedlings a success rate to rival or even exceed that of traditional planting methods.
Advantages over Conventional Seeding Turfing
Hydro seeding allows the custom tailoring of the proper seed for your job. It is not uncommon to use two or even three seeds custom spraying the right seed for different areas on the area. Many custom hydro seeding contractors will use one seed for shady areas, one for high traffic areas, one to make the front lawn a showpiece and so on.
Is intended for use when either the area is inaccessible or on unsuitable for conventional seeding.
Turf generally costs 3 to 5 times more than hydro seeding. Hydro seeding will often produce a sward better and as nice looking as turf within a very short time at a significant cost savings.
Hydro Seeding mulch adds to the humus content of turf as it decomposes. The bacterial action of mulch will leach nitrogen from the soil as it decomposes.
Hydro seeded comes up faster. The contact of the seed with water will trigger the germination cycle. We often hear of grass up in 3 to 5 days.
Applying seed in a liquid medium has a number of benefits: The added mass increases accuracy and throw distance; adds stability in exposed, windy areas; accelerates germination; and enhances the survival rate of resulting plants.
Seed mixtures, binders, matrix, machinery, and dispersal equipment have been the subject of continuous improvement, allowing hydro seedlings success rate to rival or even exceed that of traditional planting methods.
The advantages of hydro seeding include faster germination, increased plant survival, and the ability to cover large, inaccessible areas. The cost is less than that of turf/sod even over flat areas, and its a more viable option in areas that are too steep to apply turf. Seed applied in a hydro seed mix will generally show growth and develop turf faster than broadcast seed.
Hydro seeding is a method of uniformly distributing seed of your choice grass/wildflowers/legumes etc.. is suspended in a mixture of water, bonding agent and wood mulch, fertiliser, and weed inhibitor.
This biodegradable combination is sprayed through a high-pressure hose onto the soil.
The consistency provides a uniform spread of seed throughout the sprayed area.
Each seed is suspended and are held securely in place by the mulch which creates a mini-greenhouse effect, retaining water.
The mulch creates an environment that retains water and promotes germination.
Because the seeds are held in place by the mulch, washing, runoff, and erosion are inhibited, even on steep banks.
The contact of the seed with the water gives faster germination and stimulates the seed to grow a healthy and deep root system.
